blooms January-December
likes grassland, heaths
can be seen by throughout the Park. This was just North of the South Beach

Sometimes called "Furze", this is a flowering shrub with branches of thorny spikes. It flowers for most of the year round leading to the old proverb, "when gorse is out of bloom, kissing's out of season". In the past, gorse was widely used as fuel, bedding,thatching and even as a chimney brush.
